Plans are coming together for the 2015 Bruce Sawmill Festival, July 10-11, which includes a little something for all.
The annual Aqua King and Queen Pageant will take place Thursday, July 9 at 7 p.m.
Following the official welcome by Bruce Mayor Rudy Pope and 2015 Sawmill Queen Marley Hood, Janae Winter will entertain leading into this year’s headline act – Shotgun Billys, a country group from Nashville.
The Bruce Museum will be open Friday and Saturday with art exhibits.
Festival t-shirts and home made ice cream from the Fine Arts Club of Bruce will be on sale at the Festival tent and the Bruce Rotary Club will be selling chances on a Henry .22 Golden Boy gun.
In addition to the wide variety of arts and crafts, the square will be filled with children’s games, a mechanical bull, Gyro, walk on water and wipe out games and a great variety of food selections.
The current schedule for Saturday, July 11 includes the Bruce Museum’s 5K Color “Run for History” which will be at 8 a.m. beside City Hall.
The Sawmill Festival Golf Tournament will start at Creekside (former Yoda Creek) at 9 a.m. The annual car show will be taking place as well.
Saturday entertainment currently includes Kim Burt, Lyrix, Jessey Higdon band, South of Memphis, Shemeka Lane and Wow and Candi Deaton. There will also be political speaking throughout the day.
