Christi Brown’s English III classes went to the Mississippi University for Women in Columbus November 2.
Along with students from other schools, BHS students gathered in the main theatre and watched six plays.
The plays, all based on short stories, included The Raven by Edgar Allan Poe, The Tell-Tale Heart by Edgar Allan Poe, The Monkey’s Paw by Guy de
Maupassant, The Necklace by W.W. Jacobs, The Celebrated Jumping Frog Contest of Calaveras County by Mark Twain and The Legend of Sleepy Hollow by Washington Irving. They were performed by a professional group that travels nationwide.
When they were over, the students went to Zaxby’s and Krispy Kreme in Columbus.
“We had a wonderful time. This is a special group of kids. I love them all, and I hope to do other field trips in the future. It is always a good thing to let kids experience things that happen outside of the confines of the classroom,” said Christi Brown.
