Plans are coming together for the annual Egg Bowl Run on Monday, Nov. 23 that will culminate on the Calhoun City Square.
ROTC soldiers from Ole Miss will leave that morning running from campus to Calhoun City carrying the game ball for that Saturday’s Egg Bowl.
They will be met on the square by ROTC soldiers from Mississippi State who will then run with the ball from Calhoun City to Starkville.
Chamber President Laura Edwards said tents for the two alumni groups will be set up on the square and citizens and businesses are encouraged to line the road and greet the soldiers as they run by.
They are tentatively scheduled to arrive in Calhoun City around 11:30 a.m. where a ceremony will take place on the square when the game ball is exchanged.
