First sponsored in 1958, National Library Week is observed each April. It is a time to celebrate the contributions of our nation’s libraries and librarians and to promote library use and support.

Libraries of all types are growing to meet the needs of the communities they serve.
In addition to being places to study, the libraries in Bruce, Calhoun City and Vardaman offer access to a variety of print and digital resources, including:  newspapers, magazines, eBooks, audiobooks, Ancestry and the Learning Express database.
“Service to the community has always been the focus of libraries,” said Regina Graham, director of the Dixie Regional Library System.  “Libraries level the playing field for people of any age who are seeking information and access to technologies that will improve their quality of life.”
