Calhoun native and former Bruce football coach Terry Allen will be the featured speaker at the July 18 meeting of the Bruce Chamber of Commerce.
The lunch meeting will be held at noon in the Bruce Museum. Cost for the lunch is $6.50. All are welcome.
Allen, who grew up in Vardaman and was head football coach at Bruce from 1972-1985, has written a book, Tales from Calhoun County. He will be sharing the back story of how he decided to write the book and the publishing process.
Allen and his wife, Pat, have both retired from the Ripley School District, and continue to reside in Ripley.
Other business scheduled for the meeting is an update on the success of the Sawmill Festival, the weekly farmers’ market and more.
