The Calhoun City Chamber of Commerce agreed to move its annual banquet from June to late April at Tuesday’s meeting.

Chamber President Laura Edwards said the desire to move the banquet was due to so many having conflicts in June every year.
Alderwoman Barbara Goodson said the town has begun sending letters to property owners that need to clean up their lots.
“We’re getting good results so far,” Goodson said.
She encouraged all to support those efforts.
Edwards said the Farmers’ Market (Walkabout Wednesday) will continue through August. She thanked the town for some cleanup around the arbor and the improved look of the darker shades.
Edwards said the chamber is looking to acquire Santa and reindeer to display on the opposite side of the square from the nativity scene completed last year.
Michael Watkins, of Farm Bureau, was honored as the chamber member of the quarter.
