Chrestman enters supervisor race; Griffin qualifies for school board

Two candidates qualified for Calhoun County races on the Nov. 8 ballot last week.
calhoun co politicsKevin Chrestman became the sixth candidate in the special election for district two supervisor.
Chrestman joins Josh Bennett, Justin Hawkins, Lynn Murphree, Homer Moore and Buddy Nelson in the race thus far. Qualifying ends Sept. 9.

Qualifying began last week for three school board seats on the November ballot.
Terry Griffin was the first, qualifying for the district two position currently held by board president Danny Harrelson.

Districts one and five, which are currently occupied by Reginal Baskin and Don Hardin, are also up for election.
Districts one and two are regular elections. District five was added as a special election following the resignation of Whit Casey of Vardaman. Don Hardin was appointed to serve until the election.
