The city of Bruce will be under a boil water notice starting sometime early Monday morning.
Bruce Mayor Rudy Pope said they are not sure exactly what time it will start, but will make an announcement when the boil water starts and when it is lifted.
Mayor Pope said there is a major leak near Murphree Frame Supply that has been in need of repair for some time that will shut down both wells in town.
“It has been patched and patched,” he said. “We are going to replace everything.”
He also said that while the wells were down they were going to put in a cut-off valve in another area that has been needed for some time.
“We will have two crews working at two different places Sunday night,” he said.
Because they don’t know how long the repair will take, they can’t pinpoint the starting time of the boil water.
Anytime water pressure is lost, a boil notice is required, he added.
