Nov. 29 runoff to feature D2 supervisor, supreme court race

All Calhoun County voters will have the opportunity to go to the polls Nov. 29 to vote in a runoff, but only district two will feature a supervisor race.
Election VoteDistrict Two voters will be deciding between Homer Moore and Kevin Chrestman in the race for supervisor. The winner will take over the position immediately following, being sworn in at the Dec. 5 meeting of the board.

Moore led all vote getters with 569 votes (44%) with Kevin Chrestman second with 267 votes (21%). A total of 455 other votes were distributed among the other four candidates in the Nov. 8 election.
All 10 precincts in the county will be voting in the runoff between John Brady and Bobby Chamberlin for Supreme Court District Three, Position One.

Brady, of Columbus, carried Calhoun County in the general election with 48% of the vote. Chamberlin, of Hernando, received 21% of the vote in Calhoun.
Absentee voting for both races will start Friday, Nov. 18. The circuit clerk’s office will be open on Saturdays, Nov. 19 and 26 from 8 a.m. until noon.
