A Banner man has been charged with burglary of a dwelling and resisting arrest and a warrant has been issued for his accomplice in an incident that happened in the Gauley community this weekend.
Carlton B. Kirby, 25, was arrested Sunday morning by Deputy Kenneth White.
Sheriff Greg Pollan said the burglary occurred at a house on CR 311 when around midnight, Deputy White noticed a pickup in the driveway of a home that he knew was unoccupied.
Pollan said when White approached the house, two individuals came running out of the side of the house and into the woods behind the house. They searched, but were not able to find the men.
Deputy White said the pickup that Kirby was driving was towed from the scene.
Sunday morning, Deputy White received a call that a suspicious person was at a residence down the road from the house that was burglarized.
When White approached the subject, told him he was under arrest and got one cuff on, Kirby began to resist.
White called for backup, but the individual at the house was able to assist White in subduing him.
Deputy White said that miscellaneous household items and tools were taken from the home, and some have been recovered.’’
