A Bruce High School teacher has been charged by the Bruce Police Department with “gratification of lust against a vulnerable person.”
Loray Jordan Jr., 41, who also served as an assistant coach for the football team, was charged Tuesday with the crime against a BHS student. Officer Corey Alexander said he and officer Thomas Sosa went to BHS to question Jordan, who lives in Grenada, Tuesday morning but he was out sick. He was called in but declined to answer any questions without an attorney present.
Alexander said the police department learned of the case April 12 via a report from the Department of Human Services. That prompted an interview with the alleged victim the same day with her family present.
Alexander said the case remains under investigation and more charges could be filed, including against school officials for failing to report the alleged crime to police when they were first notified of it.
The next step for Jordan, Alexander said, would be the scheduling of a “probable cause hearing” before a judge.
