A Calhoun City man turned himself in to the Calhoun County Sheriff’s Department Monday after being sought for just over a month for attempted murder.
Marcus D. Jennings, 24, had been wanted by authorities for shooting at his “wife’s” car “several times,” Calhoun City Police Chief Tito Lopez said.
No one was injured in the shooting incident that happened around 8 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 7. Calhoun City officer Sean Turner was first to respond but Jennings had fled on foot and has been on the run ever since.
Jennings, who was charged with aggravated domestic earlier this year, remains in custody at the county jail in Pittsboro.
Bond had not been set as of Tuesday afternoon.
