Gene Ruth
Gene Ruth, 27, was taken into custody last night and charged with burglary of a commercial building, grand larceny, possession of methamphetamine and possession of marijuana with intent. Sheriff Greg Pollan said more charges are likely as the investigation continues.
Pollan said his department obtained a search warrant Dec. 24 after a tip from an individual reporting potential stolen property at Ruth's residence on North Wells. That search on Christmas Eve uncovered a Can-Am Side-by-Side stolen from Paul Edmondson's in Vardaman in November.
Pollan said that discovery prompted officers to obtain a second search warrant which they enforced yesterday (Tuesday) where more stolen goods, including a 7500 super charger and other parts and tools stolen from Blaylock's Engine Shop in Derma last August.
