Calhoun City Board of Aldermen approved Nick Doles, Park and Rec Activities Operations Director, and Josh Miller, Activities Administrator, to continue under their current contracts Tuesday night at their regular meeting.
Approval was also given to renew certificates of deposit, and to use one of the library’s to open an account for the renovation project at the Calhoun City Library.

Marshall Coleman
In discussion about signs at the intersection of Boland Street and Willis Avenue, Alderman Marshall Coleman reported talking with Burns and Mayor Hill about enforcing the stop signs only during certain hours of the day when school is in session. Coleman suggested the hours of enforcement for the stop signs to be 7-8 a.m. and 12:15-3 p.m. The plan is for the enforcement hours to be posted on a sign placed at the stop sign.
An interlocal agreement between the towns of Derma, Calhoun City, Vardaman, Bruce and Big Creek authorizing each town to allow the use of law enforcement officers in the other town, if requested, was approved.
In the absence of Lee Burns, Mayor Amye Hill reported the Industrial Park water well back in working order.
Agreement with Willis Engineering for engineering services for Rural Development CDBG water well project was approved by the aldermen, and approval was also given for aldermen, city clerk and mayor to attend MML conferences, court clerk summer conference, and city clerk to spring conference. Land and Personal Rolls as received from the Calhoun County Tax Assessor were adopted.
