Chase Hubbard, known in the music business as Hubb, released his debut solo album last weekend. The album, entitled Badlands and produced by Josh Bright, gives the listener a taste of life in the country.
“If you grew up listening to loud music and spent weekends with friends, or having a cold one at a bonfire at the lake bottom, and could always be found in search of a good hole to go mud riding in, Hubb’s sound is for you,” a press release said.
Hubbard is from Calhoun City and attended Calhoun Academy where he got his start in music. He began with his first band, the pop-punk “Stealbourne” while in the tenth grade and continued with them until age 21.
It was in “Stealbourne” that he first had the opportunity to play bass and sing his own vocals. He then joined “Forever and Never,” which he parlayed into his first experience playing with a touring band. Though he learned a lot from his experience in the group, he was forced to resign when they moved to Nashville. At that point, he signed on with “Crashing Broadway.”
Hubbard has shared the stage with Ryan Upchurch, Haystak, Hosier, Shotgun Shane, DJ Paul, and many other well-known and influential music artists. He has generated a loyal local and regional following for his performances.
Hubbard wrote all the lyrics and created many of the beats himself for his new album.
He is currently scheduled to play with Haystak on Jan. 26 in Knoxville, Tenn. and with Upchurch the Redneck on Feb. 9 in Hot Springs, Arkansas.
