Memorial Day programs are scheduled for Bruce and Calhoun City next Monday on the respective squares.
The Calhoun City program will begin at 10 a.m. with veteran Bro. Keith Spratlin, of Calhoun City, serving as guest speaker.
The program will also feature special recognition for area Purple Heart recipients.
The Bruce program will begin at 11 a.m. with Maggie Wesley, VFW Dist. 8 Commander from Columbus, serving as guest speaker.
POW/MIA veterans will receive special remembrance during the program. A table will be set up on the square for all the register.
A blow up jumper for kids will be set up at the Bruce VFW after the service on the square. In case of rain, the program will move to the VFW.
Pryor Memorial Funeral Home’s annual Memorial service will be held Saturday, May 26 at 10 a.m. during SquareFest with Bro. Kenneth Armstrong serving as guest speaker.
This year’s program will take place on the square rather than the funeral home parking lot as in the past.
