Fire spread into all three buildings at the old National Guard Armory in Bruce keeping Bruce and Chickenbone firefighters busy for hours in extreme heat trying to save equipment stored there.
The old facility is primarily used to store county and town road equipment. Two larger pieces firemen were constantly spraying down trying to save from the fire was a large paving machine belonging to the county and the town's leaf vacuum.
The fire was reported around 3:45 p.m. and spread quickly forcing firemen to attack it from all ends of the long, narrow metal buildings. Several firemen struggled with heat issues as Bruce Police were on scene rushing water to all that needed it.
