Earl B. Sherman was the son of Buddy and Mollie Sherman from Calhoun City. He enlisted in the Navy. He served during World War II with the rank of Petty Officer Second Class as a Machinist’s Mate Second Class. Service number was 7217450.
On May 4, 1945 he was listed as “Missing in action or lost at sea” in the South Pacific and is listed at the Tablets of the Missing at Honolulu Memorial, Honolulu, Hawaii.
His awards and medals are Purple Heart, American Campaign Medal, World War II Victory Medal, Combat Action Ribbon. Earl was Celeste Malone Felten’s uncle.
