Murphree Frame Supply in Bruce is the latest of a handful of businesses around the county that have closed this summer.
Kimmy and J.J. Murphree closed the building supply located in the former Brookwood building last Thursday. Murphree founded the business in 2000 off Hwy. 32 east of Bruce and moved to the Brookwood facility in 2008.

“We appreciate all of our customers that have shopped with us through the years,” Kimmy said.
Plans are to try to sell the 106,000 square foot building located on Center Street behind the Bruce Piggly Wiggly.
Murphree also owns the former Yoda Creek Golf Course property in Bruce and is in the process of remodeling the old clubhouse for a residential home he plans to sell.

He said they hope to develop more residential lots on the property there.
Earlier this summer, Calhoun City had two restaurants to close. El Jefe’s short run on the Calhoun City square ended more than a month ago. It was a branch of the Mexican restaurant in Pittsboro which is still open.
Calhoun City’s Subway restaurant closed this summer as well.
