A Pontotoc man has finally been served an indictment for attempted murder in Bruce in 2017.
Adrian Golden has been on the run since June of that year and was captured by U.S. Marshals in Texarkana, AR, Oct. 10.
Golden initially refused to sign extradition papers, but a DOC warrant forced the move.
He was transported to Pontotoc County Monday, where he has been on probation for a previous charge.
Sheriff Greg Pollan said Calhoun officially served their indictment on Golden Monday, and Pontotoc served theirs for kidnapping.
“After 17 long months all the law enforcement agencies involved in this hunt for Golden are glad we finally made it to this point. This was a team effort of local, state and federal law enforcement coming together for a common goal which was trying to bring a fugitive to justice and to get closure for the victims.”
The Calhoun and Pontotoc incidents stem from Golden allegedly kidnapping his wife, Kimberly Sisk, in Pontotoc, and shooting her in the Bruce city limits, where they were driving through.
He escaped on foot.
Circuit Judge Andy Howorth has denied bond for Golden on the Calhoun charge.
A Pontotoc circuit judge has set bond of $50,000 on the kidnapping charge.
Pollan said that Golden will be housed in Pontotoc until he faces a circuit court hearing in Lee County in the next few days.
He said the most likely scenario is that Golden’s probation will be revoked and he will be sent to Rankin County with holds for the charges in Calhoun and Pontotoc.
