Many would expect a high school student to carry out unproductive activities outside of school such as watching television or scrolling through social media.
Although this is true in some cases, some students at BHS would rather spend their time singing, drawing, volunteering, and even creating music.
BHS junior, Logan Redwine, wanted to learn something new and step out of his comfort zone.
He began teaching himself how to play the electronic keyboard around the summer of 2018.
His favorite piece to play is “Bloodstream” by The Chainsmokers.
“I learn mostly by ear and videos. I just try to find what sounds right and then play it. So far I’ve learned that it’s way harder than I expected it to be. You can’t just master one song in a night, as it usually takes about a week in my case,” said Redwine.
Along with playing the keyboard, he says he’d like to learn other instruments and maybe even play as a musician for events in the future.
The BHS junior also creates pop beats and “hard-hitting” music of his own.
