Empty Bowls event March 2; Tickets on sale now, only 300 available

Preparations are underway for the second annual Empty Bowls fundraiser benefiting Our Daily Bread Food Pantry in Bruce.
Deer Run Pottery (Anna Collums and Sheryl Collins) and Matt Allen will be providing the bowls for this year’s event.
Tickets are $15 for the meal which will include soup, cornbread, dessert and a drink. They can be purchased at Renasant Bank, Jeffery’s and Money Connection in Bruce, and Chandler’s and Renasant Bank in Calhoun City, and BancorpSouth in Vardaman.
There are 300 tickets available, that’s an increase from the 250 which sold out last year. Ticket holders get to keep the hand-crafted bowl their meal is served in.
The event will begin at 5 p.m. at the multi-purpose building in Pittsboro and will also feature an art raffle.
Artists contributing works include Lisa Smallwood, Tammy Jackson, Tammy Hellums, Kiesha Goff, Lynn Dobbs, Matt Allen, Lisa Norwood, Kim Burt, Vonda Keon and more.
Raffle tickets will be sold for one for $1, six for $5, and 30 for $20.
