Cindy Hubbard was officially sworn in as Pittsboro’s newest mayor last week by attorney Ben Suber as her husband Gerald, a Pittsboro alderman, looks on. Hubbard had been serving as vice-mayor.
She succeeds longtime mayor Reda Bullard who passed away last month. Hubbard was the lone qualifier for mayor. Qualifying for her seat on the board of aldermen will continue until March 13 with the election to be held April 2.
