Vardaman board accepts bids on surplus equipment

Vardaman board accepted a number of bids on surplus property at their meeting last week.
Tommie Daniel was the highest bidder on all property except a John Deere mower, which went to Lane Landreth. Terell Cooper’s bid of $603.41 for the 1997 Crown Victoria was accepted, as was Lonnie Moore’s bid of $1,080 for the 1998 Crown Vic.
The board also agreed to send Police Chief Kenneth Scott to summer conference, Deputy Clerk Tiffany Fugett to court classes through BBI and Clerk Amy White to budgeting classes through BBI in April.
Alderwoman Peggy Skinner asked the public works department to periodically blow out the culverts to try to prevent flooding if possible.
