Two Calhoun County Journal ads were big winners at the Mississippi Press Association’s Better Newspaper Advertising Contest this weekend.

Both of the ads, designed by Lisa McNeece, were first place winners.
The “Good Luck Cougars” ad won first place in the Best Institutional ad division, and Something To Talk About’s “Now Open” ad won first place in Best Single Retail Ad.
The Journal competes in the division with the weekly newspapers with the largest circulations in the state.
