Vardaman mayor and board of aldermen sold the former town hall building, received request from Furniture Wood on a tax exemption and discussed keeping a road clear at their June monthly meeting.

Mayor James Casey reported he would meet with an engineer to check on a small municipal grant to try to get sewer to Willa Kay Duke.
A $30,000 bid from Thomas Brooks was accepted for the old Town Hall building on Main Street.
The fire chief asked the board for a Cascade System (a machine that refills the oxygen tanks used when fighting fires) for the department. The board agreed to look into options. Furniture Wood asked for a tax exemption on its upgrades. Town Attorney Paul Moore Jr. agreed to look further into it. Chris Ward said the road between Furniture Wood and Ram Shack needs to be cleared of trucks parking and trailers left there. The board agreed it needed to be open and clear.
The board agreed for Chris Ward to purchase a Dodge Ram from Hawks’ Automotive for the purpose of hauling the sewer machine. The board took under advisement the purchase of new BBI tax collector software.
