Campbell talks to Chamber about bike trail; mayor tells paving plan

Bruce Chamber of Commerce met June 17 and Mike Campbell was guest speaker.
He talked about the bike trail project for Bruce and that work should begin soon. He talked about benefits the town will see when it is complete.
Mayor Rudy Pope said the town got a $10,000 permit for the landfill, and that paving projects would start after the Sawmill Festival.
Chamber secretary Trina Griffin reported ten rentals of the museum in May and June, and four so far in July. Sawmill Festival shirts are in and may be purchased at the Chamber office.

President J.J. Winter congratulated Bonnie’s Fashion for winning WCBI’s Viewer’s Choice award for best Formal Wear.
He also thanked Becky Wright and Sandra Pope for their work on the July 4th fireworks event.
He also announced another contest, “Go Red, White and Blue for Red, White and Boom.”

Plans are underway for a September 11 event for first responders.
Mike Campbell was winner of the doorprize.
In attendance were Rudy and Sandra Pope, Becky Wright, Ryan Berry, J.J. Winter, Charlotte Gann, Linda and Andy Stepp, Mike Campbell, Trina Griffin, Chuck Howell, Frankie Moorman and Miles Jeffery.
