The Bruce Chamber of Commerce met last week reviewing the recent Fourth of July and Sawmill Festival events.
President J.J. Winter thanked Becky Wright and Sandra Pope for their work on the Fourth celebration calling it a “great success.”
Wright told the chamber they shot the fireworks a little early to avoid the threat of rain, but all went well.

The threat of rain also hampered the Sawmill Festival with 16 vendors who were registered not showing up.
Miles Jeffery said he would have a more thorough update on the festival results following the committee’s next meeting.

Chamber Secretary Trina Griffin announced Artifacts won the “Red, White, and Blue” contest over the Fourth holiday earning a free advertisement in The Journal.
Griffin also reported the Bruce Museum facility was rented four times in July and said work would begin soon on installing new memorial bricks on the front of the building.
