The Calhoun City Board of Aldermen voted to sell the city-owned warehouse in the industrial park to Parker Family Enterprises LLC at their August meeting.
Parker had been leasing the facility from the town and discussions arose of potentially buying the property.
The board discussed the matter in an executive session and afterwards agreed to sell for $300,000.
Another executive session was held to discuss pending litigation. No action was taken following that session.
The board awarded an annual hunting rights lease to John Sugg Jr. for $500 for town property near the city dump north of Calhoun City. Sugg, who previously had the lease, was the lone bidder. The lease is for three years.
The board hired Talford Lawncare Service to do some exterior improvements at the library and authorized final payments for the facility renovation.
The library officially reopened this week. An open house will soon be set to celebrate the project.
The public hearing for the proposed budget for next fiscal year was set for Tuesday, Sept. 3. The budget is scheduled to adopted at a Tuesday, Sept. 10 meeting.
