Adrian Golden was sentenced today (Friday, Nov. 22) to serve 38 years in prison for the attempted murder of his estranged wife.

Golden entered a plea of guilty on Monday at the Calhoun County Courthouse in Pittsboro before Judge Andy Howorth. He was immediately transported by Calhoun County Sheriff's Office to Rankin County Friday morning following sentencing.

Golden, of Pontotoc, spent more than a year on the run after shooting his wife Kimberly Sisk after she had jumped out of the car on Hwy. 32 near Joe's Market in Bruce in June of 2017. Golden had kidnapped Sisk. He still faces a kidnapping charge in Pontotoc County.

Golden first attempted to run over Sisk after she leapt out of the vehicle and he crashed in a roadside ditch. He then exited the car and shot her at close range and fled the scene on foot. He escaped into the woods of South Bruce near the Skuna Canal and ultimately made it out of the area before U.S. Marshals captured him in October of 2018 in Arkansas.
