What to do about graduation was among topics discussed during Monday night’s school board meeting.

Dr. Lisa Langford

The meeting was once again conducted via Zoom video conference with all board members present with the exception of Will Fleming.
Supt. Dr. Lisa Langford said the high school principals were not ready to give up on holding graduation ceremonies in May and several ideas had been discussed on how to handle it while maintaining “social distancing.”

Christie Vance suggested it be looked at utilizing Friday, Saturday and Sunday for ceremonies rather than the currently planned Thursday, Friday, Saturday to help with families traveling in from out of town who struggle with Thursday ceremonies. Dr. Langford said everything was open to discussion including other means of recognizing students via social media.
“Even if it’s as late as July, I’d like us to have something for these graduates,” Brad Logan said.
