Join us at Jesse Yancy Memorial Library in Bruce Tuesday, Mar. 25 at noon for a Brown Bag Luncheon with Mississippi author, Claire Spradling.

Spradling will be sharing from her newest book, “Duress.”
Within the pages of “Duress” readers will be drawn to an entertaining story of psychotic crime and drama. In the face of danger and adversity, Southern individuals have to rely on a higher power than the authorities or loved ones for their rescue.

Spradling says that “characters confront a ‘rehabilitated’ schizophrenic who hears voices and holds a kind-hearted women under duress, which tests her faith and determination. The woman in distress discovers that alarm systems, law enforcement and family can’t guarantee protection.”
Spradling, a registered dietitian, spent years working in medical institutions documenting the progress of patients.

She tapped into her life experiences to deliver a novel that pits a high-minded psychiatrist against law officials. The psychiatrist insists his patient is an innocent victim and not responsible for harmful acts.
Law professionals claim his patient is a psychopath, who deserves to be incarcerated before he kills someone, if he hasn’t already.

Dessert and coffee will be served. Books will be available for purchase.
