Calhoun County citizens are asked to be on alert for a scam in the area in which callers are portraying TV satellite companies.
Bruce Policeman Mark Hendrix said they have learned several citizens have received calls claiming to be DirecTV or Dish telling subscribers new regulations require one full year’s service, $360, be paid immediately.
“We contacted both companies and they have said they don’t operate in that manner,” Hendrix said. “This is a scam. People need report any calls like this they received to the police and please don’t send any money.”
