Saturday, Sept. 26 is Global and National Day of Prayer in Washington, D.C.
Locally, Saturday, a meeting will be held at the park across from the post office in Vardaman starting at 11 a.m.
All are invited to attend and join in prayer for a spiritual awakening in our days for ourselves, our families, communities and churches.
Thanks to Jerry Murphree who left me a flyer containing this information.

The 145th annual Fall session of Calhoun Baptist Association is planned for Monday, Sept. 28 starting at 6:30 p.m. at FBC in Bruce.
Bro. David Haggerty from Mt. Comfort will bring the evening message.
Autumn officially began Tuesday. This is a date Jan Barber would have reminded us about, if she was still writing.
Did not learn of her death last week until after the bulk of this column was written.

Became acquainted with Jan when she entered BCLC several years ago.
She directed the singing for Judy Starks and I at BCLC for some time.
Always enjoyed the news she wrote and I was pleased that in latter time, she asked that her items be attached to mine.
Several of her family members and friends gathered last Friday at Bethany Cemetery in Slate Springs for her service.
Happy 37th wedding anniversary September 21 Joe and Maggie Haire.

Happy birthday Sept. 20 Tammy Sutherland, Lisa Campbell; Sept. 22 Bro. Chris Duncan, Don Stafford; Sept. 23 Barbara Turner, Tracey Bailey, James Tedder, Lucinda Berry; Sept. 24 Jackie Easley; Sept. 25, Mary Tedder, Whitney Wooten, John Tedder, Candy Huffman, Jerry Mitchell, Jane Gregory, Phil Lucius; Sept. 26 Kenneth Langford Damon Nelson, Jonathan Fugett, Mary Langford, Steve Harmon.
Everyone enjoyed the fellowship meal at church Sunday.
Due to Covid-19, it has been several months since our last meal together.

Those elected to attend the associational meeting from church included Nancy and Benny Barefield, John and Rita Leachman.
The Leachmans state the Tupelo Daily has discontinued delivery to their home by carrier.
To my knowledge, this is the last area of the county that was receiving the Tupelo Daily Journal by carrier.
Area people now only receive that paper through regular mail or at boxes in county towns.
