The Loosa Schoona Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution met November 9, 2020 in the Bruce Methodist Church.
The meeting was called to order by Regent Angie Newlin and the Daughters proceeded into the ritual for the chapter meeting.
After the minutes and treasury reports were given and approved, the group moved on to new and old business.
Old business included announcing winners of the Good Citizenship awards: Kaitlyn Kincade, Nathan Dowling and Dowden Taylor.
Plans were finalized for a date and delivery of cupcakes, ice cream and drinks to Bruce Nursing Home for the birthday party DAR sponsors each year.
Also discussed was doing the fundraiser for Rosalie, the State DAR mansion in Natchez. The chapter will sell chances on a patriotic quilt at Bruce Christmas parade.
New business includes the Christmas dinner in Houston at Bridges Hall on December 1, and Mary Gwen Dudley will be installed as the new registrar.
The chapter missed several members who were unable to attend. Some were sick and some are still not getting out.
The program was on the unknown solider, presented by Rose Regis. She had visited Washington, DC and shared her pictures on a power point presentation.
Daughters attending were Angie Newlin, Rita Stewart, Mary Gwen Dudley, Rose Regis, Jane Plunk, Judy Carnaggio, Melanie Day, Margie Chandler and Bebe Maxwell.
