Christmas lights lighting up Derma

With the Covid virus still on the rise, I understand a lot of families had their Thanksgiving separate from the rest of the family.
On Saturday before Thanksgiving, AG and I went to Manda Griffin’s, DNP clinic where she sent off the test on us.
With Wilma undergoing chemo treatment, I was just concerned about going, so she offered to do the test. Thankfully, we both were negative.
So with our masks we went to have our Thanksgiving in Jonesboro with Franklin and Wilma Gibson, Terry Ross, and Al Gibson.

Mentioning the Covid-19 virus, we here in Calhoun County need to get back to taking this very serious.
On November 22 the cases for us in Calhoun was 712, then just 7 days later on November 29 we are up to 777....people that is a rise of 65 new cases.
I know it has been a long on-going illness, but we have so many high risk family members, friends, or neighbors that we could lose if precautions are not taken.

Congratulations to the coaches and Calhoun City Wildcat football team. With their win this last Friday, they are now headed to State as the North Half Champions.
They have worked awfully hard coming to this rank, so we give support on their next game.
The Christmas lights on N. Strong in Derma are now lighting up our street. Thanks to all our neighbors for even decorating our yard for us. We don’t turn on the lights if it is raining, but on clear nights come and get in the spirit of Christmas.

Earlier articles I had mentioned a Christmas Bazaar to be held in Vardaman. This has been cancelled after giving it a lot of thought the organizers decided it best not to have it due to the virus numbers rising as they are.
Also, saw where Big Creek has cancelled their Christmas Parade too.
Our list for prayers is going up with so many having the virus, or having to have treatments, or just other medical issues. Please pray for better health, comfort during their time of fighting cancers and the other problems they are having.
Sympathy for the families of Abdulwadod Ala Salahadeen, Buba Wall, Jennifer Evans Chandler and Geraldine Lucius Dye. They all have gained their Angel wings this week and will be missed by those that knew them. Pray for comfort for all during this difficult time.
