The Calhoun City house known as the old David Pryor home, currently owned by Kitt Bryant, was destroyed by fire early Tuesday morning.

Firefighters from five different departments were represented as firemen worked for more than four hours to try and save the house.
Firemen fought the fire from 2 a.m. until after sunrise.
The fire was called in by Calhoun City Police Chief Benny Langford who heard the alarm and saw the smoke just before 2 a.m.

No one was home at the time of the fire. The cause was unknown.
