The 2014 election season isn’t quite over as Calhoun Countians will return to the polls Tuesday, Nov. 25 to determine a winner in the circuit judge race.
Shirley Byers, of Holly Springs, and Kelly Luther, of Tippah County, advanced to the runoff after last week’s circuit court district three, place two election.
Luther led the ticket in Calhoun 1,494-1,263 over Byers with Ki Jones, of Holly Springs coming in third at 327, but it was Byers who finished first districtwide with 13,569 to Luther’s 13,027. Jones finished with 6,252.
Absentee voting for the race will begin late this week and the circuit clerk’s office will be open from 8 a.m. until noon Saturday, Nov. 15 and Nov. 22.
