A Pheba man has been arrested for sexual charges involving a Calhoun County child.
William Matthew Fowler, 29, was arrested at his home Friday by Calhoun County Sheriff’s Dept.
Sheriff Greg Pollan said the incident involing an 8-year-old female, happened a couple of months ago at a home on Hwy 341 north of Vardaman, where Fowller was living at the time.
Pollan said Fowler since moved back to Clay county. Pollan said Calhoun DHS and sheriff’s department were notified after an anonymous tip to the state hotline.
Fowler has been charged with one count of sexual battery and one count of touching a child for lustful purposes.
He is being held at the Calhoun County Jail on a $1,000,000 bond.
