One of the biggest marijuana finds in the county resulted in the arrest of a Banner man today.

Taylor

Sheriff Greg Pollan said that more than 185 plants were discovered on CR 165 after a tip.

William Taylor, 47, was charged with manufacturing marijuana, possession of marijuana with intent, possession of marijuana in a motor vehicle, and driving while license suspended.

Pollan said the plants had a street value of $275,000-$375,000.

"At full maturity, each plant will produce approximately 1 lb. of marijuana. That 1 lb. has a street value of $1,500-$2,000," noting that many of the plants were nearing full maturity.

Pollan said the plants were spread out over 2-3 acres, less than 100 yards from Taylor's residence, where after getting a search warrant, they found more plants.

Taylor was arrested leaving his house.

"Obviously, this is not an everyday thing for us. We have found much small quantities before, but nothing like this. I'm extremely proud of the work that the deputies put into this," Pollan said.

Pollan said that bond for Taylor would be set Monday.
