Revenue up in Pittsboro, Bruce, Derma, Vardaman

Bruce, Derma, Vardaman and Pittsboro are all showing gains in sales tax revenue after the first two months of the new fiscal year.
sales-taxA report from the Mississippi Department of Revenue shows Bruce sales tax revenue is $84,680 after July and August. That’s up more than $2,000 after the first two months of last fiscal year.

Derma is up $2,700 over last year with $16,804 reported after the first two months.
Vardaman’s $22,337 total for July and August is a $2,400 increase for the town compared to 2016.

Calhoun City is showing a decrease for the first two months, dropping down $5,000 from last fiscal year with a total of $48,169 for the first two months. It should be noted September’s figures will be the first to reflect sales tax generated from the new Sonic opening.

Among the smaller town’s, Pittsboro is showing a $300 increase with $3,641 over the first two months of FY 2017-18. Big Creek is up slightly at $709 and Slate Springs is down at $208.
