Denton was charged along with Vintrell Bobo who pled last year to first degree murder and was sentenced to life in prison.

Sheriff Greg Pollan said Bobo and Denton invaded a house on Private Road 2001 west of Pittsboro, where Brandon Ezell and Patterson lived.
Pollan said Bobo and Denton, who authorities believe knew Ezell and Patterson, entered the home heavily armed, and numerous shots were immediately fired.
Patterson was shot multiple times and was pronounced dead at the scene. During the shootout, Ezell was able to retrieve a weapon that he owns and fire at the assailants, striking Bobo in the side.
Bobo was later transported by a family member to Calhoun Health Services and was airlifted to UMC in Jackson where he stayed for several days.
Denton is sentenced to 30 years, five suspended, 25 to serve, 5 years post release supervision and will be required to serve day for day.
