A Derma man indicted by the Mississippi Highway Patrol for a DUI that resulted in a death turned himself in at the Calhoun County Jail yesterday.

Maurice Buchanan, of Derma, was charged for aggravated DUI (death) for an accident April 1 when Austin Armstrong, of Calhoun City, was killed.
The accident was on Hwy. 8 involving a vehicle driven by Buchanan and a four wheeler driven by Armstrong
Armstrong, 23, was pronounced dead at the scene at 2:43 a.m. near County Road 347.
The report from the MHP said a 2007 Chevrolet Impala driven by Buchanan, 29, of Derma, was traveling east on Hwy. 8 when he collided with a Honda ATV also traveling east.
Buchanan’s bond has been set at $50,000
