March 30, 1978 – The Ellard High School Senior Class of 1944 was honored with a buffet luncheon in the home of Mrs. Tillman Shelton of Bruce on March 4. Seven class members attended.

Since the class colors were red and white, and the class flower was the red rose, the attractive decorations were carried out in those colors. The centerpiece of the dining table was a beautiful arrangement of American Beauty roses and white baby’s breath, interspersed with greenery.

In lieu of a formal program, after the luncheon the guests sat informally around the dining table and reminisced about their school experiences and talked of more recent events of interest to each other.

Class members enjoying the occasion were: Mesdames Ruby Ward Shelton, Bruce; Mattie Lou Landreth White, Memphis; Mary Lou Stribling Jackman, Shelbyville, In.; Mary Rasberry Garner, Banner; Ann McKibben Inman, Bruce; John Robert Collins, Bruce, and J.D. Morgan, Memphis.

Also attending as guests were Mrs. J.R. Collins, Bruce, and Harold Inman, Bruce.

The guests presented Mrs. Shelton with an engraved silver tray and a silver bud vase.

Other class members not present were Mrs. Lavelle Cannon Stutsy, Memphis, and Mrs. Faye Neal Boyd, Hamilton.
