Bruce Mayor Rudy Pope is urging citizens who suffered damage from the recent floods to not begin rebuilding projects until MEMA inspectors can review your property.

Mayor Pope said inspectors from the Mississippi Emergency Management Agency would be in Bruce next week visiting properties to take individual assessments.
“You can clean up but do not tear out or replace anything,” Mayor Pope said.
He explained MEMA officials were here right after the storm doing a preliminary count on properties damaged, but the detailed assessment that will impact the amount of damages the town might can recover won’t take place until next week.
“Document everything you can and take lots of pictures and save them for proof of your damage,” Mayor Pope said.
