Cannon urges attitude, vision in workplace

The Bruce Chamber of Commerce Banquet was held last Thursday night at the Museum.
Michael Joe Cannon of Cannon Motor Company was guest speaker.
In talking about the car business, he said it all started in “small town America” --Calhoun County. He is thankful for the values taught to him here.
“You have to work hard and stay humble. If you have passion and determination, you will be successful,” he said.
“Our motto is ‘Do Your Job’,” and they strive to have a positive work environment, and stresses that, “You (and your employees) must have a clear vision.”
Music was provided by James ‘Duck’ Drake and Kim Burt.
Connie Rogers of Connie’s Flowers and Gifts was named Chamber Business of the Year. Rogers has been in business for 30 years.
The Chamber Co-Members of the Year awards went to the late Theresa Nicks Drake and the late Lisa Denley McNeece.
Becky Wright was presented the Chamber Impact Award, and Dr. Thomas Tillman was named Bruce Citizen of the Year.
Award presentations were made by Chamber president J.J. Winter.
