Calhoun County Supervisors took steps to remove half a mile of CR 346 from the State Aid System and to “abandon” a bridge on CR 136 in their meeting Monday in Pittsboro.
The board unanimously approved transferring half a mile of CR 346 from the State Aid Road System to the county system. The change was made to open better opportunities for funding to replace a bridge on the road through the LSBP system. It was ineligible for LSBP funding with State Aid designation.
They also approved closing and abandoning a bridge over Cowpen Creek on CR 131. A public hearing on the matter will be held Sept. 3 at 10 a.m.
