“We call and call and nobody comes,” she said. “We don’t hardly ever see police here.”
Derma uses part time officers that are on call.
Mayor Dock Gabbert said, “Let’s get Stan (police chief Evans) at the next meeting and thrash this out.”

“We will talk about a full time officer, but they will have to be certified,” Gabbert said.
They agreed to talk to Evans and make sure he was able to attend next meeting.
At the request of Clerk Deneen James the board approved giving her permission to move money between town accounts when necessary.

The board also approved advertising for the town depository and to renew the town’s CD at the best rate available.
Alderwomen Aretha Herrod and Kendra Wright were not at the meeting.
Clerk Russell reported bad debts- Mary Harvey, Dalia Hernandez, Shaniqua Moore, Laaken Armstrong, Jerry Good, Cynthia M. Gray and Lauren D. Jackson.
The next board meeting will be Tuesday, Aug. 2.
